Thousands of buildings across Australia need to comply with various fire regulations set by industry bodies in each state. However, many building owners are only looking at the compliance side. A compliant building does not necessarily mean a safe building. In fact, many buildings are by no means safe but do comply.
All apprentices, currently studying for the Certificate 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning at the Canberra Institute of Technology were requested to demonstrate a variety of real-life refrigeration and air conditioning tasks.
The built environment comprises rich streams of data with much of it remaining invisible. Capturing and properly harnessing this data will allow building owners and occupants to better manage risk and create ‘smart’ buildings.
