Sustainability –
we live it

Our Philosophy. We will grow in a way that is sustainable for our clients, stakeholders, suppliers, employees, and the community. Sustainability is integrated into our day-to-day business processes, corporate culture and our business strategy – which is to create long-term sustainable value for building owners, managers and their occupants. Grosvenor reduces its environmental footprint through increased energy efficiency, lean business processes, reduced resource consumption and elimination of waste.

FluoroCycle

recycling waste lighting

As part of our commitment towards sustainability, we are part of the FluoroCycle program, which focusses on the recycling of waste lighting. As part of this program, we are helping to minimise the accumulation of mercury in land-fill as a result of the correct method of disposal of fluoro lighting. It is estimated that 95% of mercury-containing lamps are sent to landfill in Australia. We have already converted hundreds of fluorescents to energy-efficient LED’s, not only at Grosvenor sites, but also for many of our customers.
FluoroCycle is a voluntary product stewardship scheme that seeks to increase the national recycling rate of waste mercury-containing lamps. Lamp recycling can help reduce the amount of mercury sent to landfill. The scheme targets the commercial and industrial sectors where the bulk of waste lamps are generated.

Energy savings

We have achieved an excellent 5.5 Stars NABERS Rating, and a 4-stars NABERS Water Rating at our HQ, through upgrading 100% of lighting to LED and installing HVAC controls. We will continue to investigate further opportunities such as solar and HVAC plant upgrades, to reach this ultimate goal.
